MT6595 debuts Meizu MX4
MT6595 debuts Meizu MX4

On September 2, 2013, Meizu launched its flagship mobile phone MX3. One year later, Meizu's MX4 has also met us. This time, Meizu has brought us a new design and more powerful performance. At the same time, the MX4 is the first mobile phone equipped with MT6595 processor of MediaTek, and it also uses Sony's 20.7 million image IMX220 sensor.

The front panel design of the MX4 is very similar to that of the previous generation, but its design is more compact. The narrowest 2.6mm frame in the world and more than 80% of the screen share make it look very scientific

The earpiece is designed in a delicate way. It is in the form of a groove. There is a sensor on the right side, and a front camera with 2 million pixels on the right side. Sony IMX208 sensor is used, with a F2.0 aperture

There is still a white circle type home key below, with backlight

The back cover is made of frosted texture, but the touch is not very special. The tail is printed with Meizu English

The back is in a certain arc, which fits the palm well

The rear 20.7 million pixel camera adopts Sony IMX220 sensor, F2.2 aperture, and dual color led fill light

The MX4 uses an aluminum magnesium alloy frame and sandblasting process. The frame has a very delicate touch. There is a power button on the top and a 3.5mm headphone connector on the left. For a 5.36 inch mobile phone, the power button is not so convenient on the top of the phone. There is a bevel on the back cover, so the headphone connector has also been polished accordingly

The metal frame around the screen is polished with mirror

The left side of the phone is the volume key

There is a groove on the bottom of the frame, through which we can easily pry off the rear cover of the MX4

At the bottom of the center is a four hole speaker, a microUSB interface and a call microphone

Open the back cover. It can be seen that the MX4 has no NFC module and the battery cannot be removed. The only purpose of removing the back cover is to install the SIM card

The top is equipped with a SIM card, which uses a microSIM card

The original leather case of MX4 has a square hole digging design on the front. You can check the time, answer the phone, etc. through this screen space

The back shape is very similar to the Galaxy Note 3, but the shape near the camera is not very flattering

The leather sleeve is installed by replacing the rear cover

MX4 uses the new Flyme OS 4 system

The icon of the launcher has been redesigned to integrate the flat style, and the icon is also large

Some icons of third-party applications have also been redrawn

The pull-down bar is equipped with a quick switch and a round icon design

The setting menu is displayed in two columns, using white and gray color matching

MX4 adopts Flyme OS 4.0A, based on Android 4.4.2

The dial panel has a small and fresh color style

Flyme OS 4.0 uses a customized Sogou input method, bringing a larger vocabulary and functions

Music playing interface, you can see that SmartBar is perfectly integrated with the whole playing interface

The file manager, like the system settings, adopts a two column design

The screenshot of the system photo album, from which we can also see that Flyme's photo album also combines the function of cloud photo album

The MX4 is equipped with the latest MT6595 eight core processor of MediaTek. The CPU part is composed of four core Cortex-A17 2.2GHz and four core Cortex-A7 1.7GHz. Using rabbit evaluation, eight cores can be detected normally. We turned on the performance mode during the test. Strangely, four cores have been in a sleep state

From the frequency detection of CPU-Z, the four open cores are Cortex-A17 (the frequency in the figure has reached 1859MHz), while the four closed cores are Cortex-A7. Due to the limitations of the field test environment, we have no concept of the core opening and frequency mechanism of the MX4

The MT6595 is paired with Imagination's PowerVR G6200, which is the same series of products as the G6430 on the iPhone 5S, but its performance is much weaker. Let's test the frame number through GFXBench 3.0. From the results, MT6595 performs better than Kirin 920, but it is not as good as Snapdragon 800. There is a big gap between MT6595 and Snapdragon 801, Apple A7 and even Snapdragon 805

The MX4's camera interface is also very simple, and the viewfinder interface will not be very complex. You can switch the camera mode by scrolling left and right. SmartBar also has some common settings

Click Settings to open the network cable, level gauge and other aids. In particular, the level gauge of the MX4 is displayed around the shutter key

The MX4 adds a manual photographing mode and supports a shutter time of up to 20 seconds

Finally, we also put three photo samples of the MX4 with 20.7 million pixels fully open (click to view the large picture):

From the above samples, it can be seen that the addition of IMX220 has greatly improved the analytical power of the MX4, but the camera is not stable when the on-site light is not good, and it is easy to have obvious smearing marks. Of course, the MX4 is still a test prototype at this stage, and we will give a detailed introduction to its more detailed test after we get the official test machine.
