The Moto 360 and LG G Watch R smartwatches, although not a blockbuster, have attracted many people's attention. Here, let's compare these two smartwatches equipped with Android Wear operating system to see what functions and parameter specifications they have:

Software

Unlike mobile phones and tablets, Google has not yet allowed manufacturers to personalize the Android Wear operating system, so the software experience of these two watches should be the same.

Voice control

Both watches are centered on Google's voice control. Up to now, the voice control of smart watch devices equipped with Android Wear is fast and the recognition is good.

size

LG has not released the overall dimensions of G Watch R, but based on the diagonal measurement of its screen, we roughly estimated the length and width of its main body (as shown in the above figure). If our estimation is good, the surface length of G Watch R will be 20% longer than that of Moto 360, and the width of both will be similar.  

structure

Moto 360 uses stainless steel body.

The body of the G Watch R is also made of stainless steel, but LG said it also added aluminum metal, and its back is made of plastic.

Replaceable watchband

Both watches can replace their default 22mm standard forms.

weight

LG also didn't release the weight of G Watch R. We took our wrists to experience it, and felt that it still had some weight. The Moto 360 weighs 60 grams.

colour

At the time of product launch, Moto 360b provided two colors, while G Watch R only had black.

Display screen (size)

The screen size of G Watch R is estimated to be only 72% of that of Moto 360. However, this ratio does not calculate the black edge at the bottom of the Moto360 display screen.

Display screen (resolution)

The pixel density of these two smartwatches is not very satisfactory, but the definition of G Watch R is higher, about 20% clearer than Moto 360.

LG said that the plastic OLED display of G Watch R and G Flex tablet phone use the same technology.

Battery

At present, we are still evaluating the endurance of Moto 360. LG did not provide an assessment of the battery life of the G Watch R, they only said that the smart watch can run for a long time.

waterproof

Both of these watches have reached the IP67 waterproof standard in the smart watch industry, which means that they can be used continuously for 30 minutes in 1 meter water depth.

Heart Rate Monitors

The first G Watch is not equipped with a heart rate monitor, but LG has deployed this function on G Watch R. In addition to heart rate monitoring, Moto 360 is also equipped with a pulse sensor.

Compatible phones

Like all smart watches equipped with Android Wear, these two devices are required to match phones running Android 4.3 or above, and they are not compatible with iPhone and WP phones.

Independent wireless function

Neither of the two smartwatches supports it.

Key

These two smart watches have only one button, and both are on the right side of the main watch body. This design makes them look more like an ordinary watch, and of course it has a classic style.

The internal storage capacity of both devices is 4GB.

RAM

Each Android Wear smart watch has 512MB of RAM, and these two models are no exception.

Release time

Moto 360 is currently on the market, but is said to have sold out. You may have to wait at least a week or two for more inventory in online and physical retail stores.

Price

We don't know what the retail price of G Watch R will be, but Motorola's pricing for Moto 360 is very aggressive. Considering that the cost of G Watch R is only 20 dollars higher than that of G Watch and 50 dollars lower than that of Samsung Gear 2, the price of G Watch R should not exceed that of Moto 360.
