14nm finally comes! Intel Core M Releases

If you are familiar with Intel, you should remember that this year is its Tick year, and the process will be upgraded (Tick Lock upgrade, which means upgrading the process in Tick year, and upgrading the architecture in Tom year). The 14nm product that everyone has been waiting for a long time is finally coming.

Although this year there was only a small update of the Haswell product line, and Broadwell again skipped the ticket, the Core M series processors released on IDF not long ago were finally officially released yesterday.

Relying on the 14nm process and the black technology of the second generation 3D transistor, its thermal design power consumption has been pressed from 11.5W to 4.5W, and the equipment does not need fan assisted cooling. Moreover, Core M has been upgraded to Core Series, so there is no need to worry about performance. Intel claimed that its computing performance and graphics card performance improved by 50% and 40% respectively.

In the test chart disclosed earlier, the Core M 5Y70 has made great progress in both graphics performance and multi-core processing performance compared with the previous generation of Bay Trail products with the same positioning. Cinebench 11.5 has a multi-core score of 2.67pts, which is equal to the current Haswell i3 series processors.

In terms of parameters, the 14nm Broadwell-Y core of Core M integrates 1.3 billion transistors, which is much higher than the 960 million transistors of the 22nm Haswell-Y series. The whole series is still dual core and four threads, but the three-level cache is increased from 3MB to 4MB, and the core graphics card is upgraded from the HD4400 of the seventh and a half generations to the HD5300 of the eighth generation, with the highest frequency of 850MHz. It natively supports the latest DirectX 11.2 OpenGL 4.2。

Intel plans to use them on 2-in-1 products (that is, the old slogan "tablet PC 2-in-1"). The official said that 20 cooperative terminal devices are in preparation, including Acer Acer, Dell, Lenovo and other manufacturers' products. The first batch will be launched in October.

However, with the creativity of domestic white brand manufacturers, it is estimated that the Core M processor XD will soon be seen in the 10 inch win 8 tablet.
