appearance:
Family photo, SBH80 comes with 3 sets of earplugs of different sizes.
There are Sony LOGO and NFC marks on the main body, and a vibration motor is built in to remind users with vibration when there is an incoming call.
The power switch and USB charging interface are located at the bottom of the main body. Since the SBH80 is designed to prevent splashing, there is a rubber waterproof cover at the interface, but it should be noted that the SBH80 cannot be immersed in water, which is also explained on Sony's official page.
The SBH80 has left and right remote controls, a total of 6 buttons and 2 microphones. The remote control and the main body are connected by elastic rubber strips.
6mm dynamic coil unit, the cavity is fully enclosed (but based on the sound generation characteristics of the dynamic coil unit, a very small vent is still opened), and ear muffs can be replaced as needed.
Wearing, operation and hearing sense:
Thanks to the fully enclosed design, the SBH80 has excellent sound insulation performance, enabling users to enjoy music or talk freely in noisy environments (such as on vehicles). However, due to the rigid silicone earplug material, the SBH80 will make a very obvious footstep sound when wearing the SBH80 when walking or running.
The total weight of the SBH80 is 15.8g, which is very lightweight. Compared with ordinary Bluetooth earphones, the neck winding design does not need to be clipped to the user's clothes, which is very convenient. However, it takes some time to adapt to the layout of its keys when it is first used. Moreover, the SBH80 keys feel very bad, small and hard on the one hand, Very poor key feedback sometimes has a serious impact on the use.
In terms of sound, we use Sony NWZ-ZX1 to connect SBH80 for audition. The audition tracks are as follows:
Celine Dion 《The Power of Love》、《Have You Ever Been in Love 》
Michael Jackson 《Beat It》、《Billie Jean》
Eason Chan Happy Cloudy Day
Makiko Kondo's "Song of Nishima" (original Japanese version of "Song of Thousands of Ques")
Yuchi Haoer's "Travel" (original Japanese version of "Autumn" and "Li Xianglan")
When I first heard the SBH80, I felt that the taste was very heavy. I paid attention to the amount of low frequencies. The quality of low frequencies was acceptable. At the same time, the high frequencies were raised unnaturally. The overall sound was one with two protruding ends and a concave middle. In addition to the completely closed cavity design, there would be a very obvious "stuffy" feeling on the whole.
In addition, The analytical power of SBH80 is also general, and the amount of information it can provide is limited. Due to the problem of tuning orientation, when listening to popular music, the accompaniment taste is heavy, but the voice is floating, unstable, and the voice is not clean enough. Although the separation between the voice and the accompaniment is good, this advantage can not make up for the serious taste of MSG caused by tuning.
In addition, SBH80 has a general control over the voice. This shortcoming is amplified in Celine Dion's two songs and Eason Chan's Happy Cloudy Day. The voice is not smooth enough and has a serious sense of graininess.
Compared with other tracks, MJ's two tracks in this audition have both performed well. The thick low frequency of SBH80 can well set off the rhythmic sense of music, and the vocal shortcomings can also be avoided. I can't help thinking that SBH80 uses these two songs as tuning tracks when tuning.
Compared with the poor performance when listening to music, the SBH80 performs very well when making calls. The sound insulation effect of the closed cavity is excellent. At the same time, the voice quality is also very clear. The sound pickup effect of the dual microphone is also very good. The Bluetooth connection is stable.
Charging and endurance:
The SBH80 package does not include a power adapter, but only contains a MicroUSB cable for charging. If it is plugged into the USB interface of a desktop computer for charging, the 125mAh battery can be fully charged in only ten minutes. If it is used with the power adapter (1.5A Output), the charging speed is faster, and the endurance of the SBH80 after full charge is quite powerful. With regard to daily commuting (listening to music for 2 hours every day, the phone for 1 hour, and not shutting down during the period), it can persist in the endurance of 2 to 3 days. Although this performance seems not excellent, it is still satisfactory considering the lightweight body and small battery capacity.
Summary:
SBH80 is light in shape and well made. Its excellent sound insulation performance makes it easy for users to use in noisy environments. It is a good companion for commuting. Its lightweight body, excellent sound insulation, easy connection with smart phones, tablets or players with NFC, and splash proof function are all SBH80's Highlights.
As for the "footstep sound" problem mentioned in the article, it can be solved by using a softer silicone sleeve or sponge sleeve. The real disadvantage of SBH80 is that the tuning bias is too serious, the applicable music types are too few, for people with mixed listening orientations, it is too scientific, and the voice is too stained, leading to its insufficiently durable, and it is easy to get tired after a long time of use.
In addition, the touch of keys is also an obvious disadvantage of SBH80. Although 80 provides enough control buttons, these buttons are too small and hard, which makes me prefer to take out my mobile phone for operation.
The current market price of SBH80 ranges from 450 yuan to 550 yuan. Compared with the official price of 899 yuan, SBH80 has dropped a lot. It is a good choice for those who need a portable and easy-to-use call type Bluetooth headset. If the main purpose is to enjoy music, it should not be considered.
