This test uses the 8.4 inch WiFi version of the Galaxy Tab S of the Bank of China.

Like other Samsung products, the Galaxy Tab S also uses environmentally friendly cartons.

Unlike ordinary Samsung products, the Galaxy Tab S does not have a protective film, but uses a paper protective case to wrap the whole machine.

The 8.4-inch 16:10 screen has a resolution of 2560 * 1600, which is also the highest resolution tablet computer today. The screen material is Samsung's preferred Super AMOLED.

The screen adopts Pentile arrangement, but ultra-high resolution can also better solve the problem of font display.

The Galaxy Tab S we got is a WiFi version, so there is no earpiece on the top, only sensors and front camera.

The layout of the lower three keys is exactly the same as that of the Samsung mobile phone. The left touch key is a multi task key, the right touch key is a return key, the middle entity key is the home key, and the home key has a gold box.

The layout of the back is very similar to that of the Galaxy S5. Of course, the volume is much larger than that of the mobile phone.

The 8 megapixel rear camera has an aperture and a LED fill light.

There are two plastic fasteners on the back for matching the original protective sleeve.

On the right side of the tablet (referring to the logo direction as the positive direction) are the on key, volume key, infrared transmitter and microSD card slot.

At the top are speakers and microphones.

There are speakers, 3.5mm headphone interface and USB2.0 interface at the bottom. The Galaxy Tab S has dual speakers. When using the horizontal screen, it can be separated on both sides of the body to achieve a certain stereo effect.

The lower layer of the package is accessories.

The standard configuration includes a power adapter (charging current 2A), data cable and earphones. Generally, the tablet is not equipped with earphones, which shows Samsung's "conscience" in this regard.

According to the overall configuration and design of the Galaxy Tab S, it is superior. What about its actual experience?

The Galaxy Tab S uses Samsung's own TouchWiz of course. The UI on the Galaxy Tab S is adapted to the tablet, but there are still many shadows of the mobile phone system. The launcher eliminates the dock on the mobile phone and adds a file manager shortcut in the lower left corner.

The secondary menu is still maintained, but not much optimization has been done according to the tablet. It is still displayed in a four column chart.

The pull-down menu is almost the same as the Galaxy S5, but the brightness adjustment and volume adjustment are displayed side by side.

Like other Android tablets, the settings menu is displayed in two columns.

The system is based on Android 4.4.2, model SM-T700, and system kernel version 3.4.39.

The launcher of Galaxy Tab S has also added unique functions. The full screen news source/system function collection plug-in can work independently, and the news source plug-in can turn pages independently.

The full screen plug-in for business functions is also very creative.

The file manager of the system shows the files in the OTG USB flash disk.

The system has its own split screen display, but for an 8.4 inch flat panel, it seems that the screen size for split screen is not large enough.

Samsung's SideSync 3.0 function enables the connection between the tablet and the phone through WiFi. The picture shows the content of the phone screen displayed on the Galaxy Tab S, but the operation is not as smooth as directly operating the phone.

The built-in TV remote control function can remotely control the TV and set-top box.

The screen resolution of Galaxy Tab S reaches 2K level, which directly brings about the problem of application compatibility. Here we also run several applications to test.

Taobao HD version, the page display is normal.

Slide out the menu, and the whole experience is not a big problem. This is also one of the few applications that often update the Android HD version.

Use Hancom Office Viewer to open document editing. High resolution tablet is especially suitable for this application scenario.

The built-in Sina Weibo HD, after special targeted optimization, displays normally. However, because the Android version of Weibo HD has not been updated for a long time, the gap between the Android version and the iPad version is still large.

Let's update our own microblog HD version to the latest 2.6.0, and a touching scene has appeared... This is also a typical application mismatch phenomenon of high resolution Android tablets

In order to use the relatively complete microblog function, we tried to install the mobile version of microblog, which is fully compatible in function, but the entire interface is stretched, the font is too small, and the use experience is not good.

Samsung's own football action game, the 2K screen brings too much pressure to the GPU, and the game does not run smoothly.

The Galaxy Tab S uses Samsung's own Exynos 5420 processor, which is exactly the same as the one on Note 3. The four core 1.9GHz A15 works with the 1.3GHz A7, and 3G Ram+16G Rom. The GPU is Mali-T628mp6. This GPU can't cope with 2K screen

Finally, the score of the Galaxy Tab S attached exceeded 35000 points on the rabbit in 4.5.3, also in line with the level of Exynos 5420.

From this simple experience, the Galaxy Tab S experience is in line with the positioning of its high-end Android tablet in all aspects, but the ultra-high resolution also brings problems such as application compatibility and insufficient GPU performance.
