Audioengine, also known as Sound Engine, has been focusing on monitoring speaker brands. It has accumulated many years of technical experience, and many of its models have been recommended by audio magazines, making considerable achievements in the field of desktop HiFi speakers. In addition, it is popular in the appearance design, and truly achieves both inside and outside.
Audioengine has A2+, A5+and P4 according to the different product positioning. The lower positioning A2+has continued the fashionable and simple design style of its own products in packaging design. The packaging material is strong enough to provide protection for long-distance transportation. In fact, from the name, it can also be seen that Audioengine A2+is an upgrade product, and the specific upgrade content is as follows.
Open the package and you will see two exquisite velvet bags filled with wires required by Audioengine A2+. Inside the package, the accessories and the speaker body are divided into two layers by thick foam material, providing strong protection. The flannelette bag not only tidies up the wire fittings, making people comfortable, but also makes people comfortable and like the exquisite texture.
In terms of wire material, Audioengine A2+is equipped with power cable, transformer, speaker cable, USB cable and RCA cable. The interface is designed with gold plating to avoid the possibility of interface oxidation after a long time of use. Compared with Audioengine A2, Audioengine A2+uses a newly upgraded power supply scheme, which is smaller, more powerful and lighter.
The Audioengine A2+body is still packed with delicate flannelette bags and foam, and fixed with thick foam placed at the bottom. Of course, it also provides protection for long-term transportation.
Audioengine A2+has two colors. The surface materials of black and white are different. Both of them use the baking process with complex processes and high costs. Black is a matte skin design, while white is a piano polish. In contrast, I prefer the classic texture of black.
The front faces of the main and auxiliary boxes of Audioengine A2+are all of the same design. They all use a 2.75-inch Kevlar fiber woofer and 20mm retinal tweeter. The long wishbone at the bottom is an inverted hole. Interestingly, Audioengine has always designed and produced high and low units and important components by itself. Custom design has also increased the cost. The bass unit of Audioengine A2+is designed for A2+.
As for my appearance party, whether it has texture and appearance is actually my focus. After all, it can't be particular about using and treating it for a long time. In addition to the paint baking process with complex process used for the shell mentioned above, the box is made of resin bonded MDF materials to strengthen the internal support, and is filled with corresponding sound absorption materials to avoid unnecessary sound reflection. Of course, the rounded corners and rounded design of its edges are not just for the purpose of onlooking, but to reduce the sound diffraction of tweeters on the front panel. In general, Audioengine A2+is very satisfactory in terms of appearance design and process texture.
There is a thin layer of rubber foam material at the bottom, providing a certain anti-skid effect and cushioning effect. There is also a standard 1/4 "thread embedded hole at the bottom of the main and auxiliary boxes, which can be mounted on the wall or top with a bracket for more convenient positions.
Relative to the front Highly concise, The back of Audioengine A2+is undoubtedly more wonderful. The main and auxiliary cabinets of Audioengine A2+do not have exaggerated cooling fins for large-sized speakers. They use metal cooling plates. Of course, the size of Audioengine A2+is enough to use metal cooling plates.
The main and auxiliary boxes are connected by means of cable clamping. The main box provides two audio inputs, RCA and 3.5mm, and a set of RCA outputs, which can be connected to additional speakers and subwoofers for use. The combination play is really interesting. There is also a metal volume knob in the upper right corner of the main speaker, which is also the key to the power supply. The workmanship is exquisite and elegant.
The main box of Audioengine A2+also has a USB input port, which is the biggest upgrade and selling point compared with A2. Audioengine A2+has built-in USB decoding, and the circuit is redesigned and improved. When USB decoding is used to link with PC, it can bypass the integrated sound card of PC and be decoded directly by Audioengine A2+, so it performs better in sound restoration and effect.
At the same time, the designed circuit is modified so that Audioengine A2+can be connected and released with the mobile device, and the sound will not deteriorate due to the different signal output quality caused by the setting of the output current. As long as the mobile device supports OTG and USB audio, it can be easily combined with Audioengine A2+.
Audioengine A2+also comes with its own shock pad. In addition to reducing the desktop resonance caused by the box's bass, the provided lifting angle can make the front of the box hear, and the sound positioning effect is higher. Simply put, it is to reduce the sound deterioration caused by resonance and provide better auditory localization.
In my opinion, Audioengine A2+is targeted at people who are small enough to provide HiFi level groups and have certain requirements for appearance design and texture. In fact, Audioengine A2+or Audioengine is positioned as PC HiFi or home HiFi. Compared with traditional HiFi, Audioengine has much lower sound requirements, but has higher requirements on volume, shape design and use experience.
For example, the newly added USB decoding function of Audioengine A2+, in addition to avoiding the impact of the cheap integrated sound card on the sound, can be directly connected without driver, which is a good reflection of its simplicity and efficiency. And its modified circuit design can avoid signal problems caused by output current when mobile devices are connected, which is also one of the manifestations.
Of course, the voice is still the final aspect. Audioengine A2+is definitely not a common PC multimedia diaosi device, nor an integrated 4.1 channel or something like that. If I really want to make a comparison, I think it is somewhat similar to the Bose Soundlink mini. It has the same "small volume" design, but the sound field and bass effect it shows make people think it is such a little guy.
In terms of sound direction, Audioengine A2+is not suitable for classical music and symphonies. For more modern or drooling songs such as pop music and rock, the performance of bass is excellent, whether it is the percussion of Romi drums or neat percussion, it is quite good. The warm and moist tuning makes the voice sound quite comfortable. I personally think the male voice is warm and relaxed, which is full of vitality.
