HDR Can you use it everyday? Do you know the effect of HDR? Do you think HDR can only work in backlight? Wrong. HDR still has many functions. Today, the author uses the Millet 2 Do a simple demonstration to let you know more wonderful functions of HDR.
Note: Because the HDR effect of different mobile phones in different versions is different, the author only uses the content written in Xiaomi 2's version 2.12.28, which is only a demonstration and is not completely applicable to other models of mobile phones or other MIUI versions.
Will you meet a good TV program and take a picture of what is on TV, then put it on the Internet to share your feelings with friends? Well, there are many such photos on the Internet. But will you notice a serious problem? See an example below:
The content in the picture is not a special "good program", but only for demonstration. You will find that when you focus on the screen, the content of the TV is clear, but it is completely dark around. Because most mobile phone cameras on the market now focus on the same point as the light measuring point. When you focus on the screen, the mobile phone camera detects the high intensity light source on the TV screen. In order to focus on the content on the screen in priority, the TV image is often displayed in priority by adjusting the exposure, which makes it dark when there is light source around, How unpleasant it is!
Well, since focusing on the screen will completely ignore the ambient light, let's focus on the wall behind the TV, right? Here is a sample with the focus on the wall: Well, the surrounding environment shows up, but the TV turns pale, and you can't see the TV content clearly. So what can your friends see after you share it online?
Note that this is the best time for you to call out the HDR function of your phone!
We can use HDR effect to better display TV content and surrounding background. Let's take a look at the sample: This is a sample of HDR effect, I set the ISO to automatic (I usually set the ISO to 100, because the ISO of 100 is relatively pure, and there is not much noise. I forgot to set the ISO when I took this picture, but the ISO of this picture is only 117, which is not much different from the ISO of 100. Let's just look at the sample of ISO 100...) We can see that the TV content and the surrounding environment can be displayed.
what? Do you think it's still too dark? It doesn't matter. We can adjust the ISO to 400 to make the picture brighter. In addition to adjusting the ISO, you can also adjust the exposure of the picture:
The author here uses a mobile phone screenshot as a demonstration. You can see that the picture can be lightened by adjusting the exposure, but it is better not to adjust it too high. If you adjust it too high, you will lose details.
In addition, it should also be noted that the ISO should not be too high. If the ISO is too high, it will increase the noise of the picture, which will not pay off.
The following is also a small demonstration: Many MMs will dress up their desks beautifully (the author has nothing to shoot, just a demonstration), and then send them to the Internet to share with friends. But the biggest problem is the same as the above example. The screen is clear, but the surroundings are very dark. Now it is broad daylight, and the surroundings are very bright, the picture will still be dark.
Next, let's turn on the HDR function of the camera to try. Very good. In addition to the clear display of the computer screen, the surrounding environment is also displayed normally.
In a scene that is not very dark, it is enough to set ISO to 100, but it is meaningless to set ISO to 400. We can see that the ISO has little effect on raising the brightness of the picture, so it is better to directly adjust the exposure. If you think the picture is bright enough, then you don't need to adjust the exposure, and it is also easy to affect the detail performance.
The ISO has been upgraded to 1600. Compared with the above two samples, there is not much improvement. Instead, a lot of noise impact images have been added, so you need to adjust the ISO according to the actual situation.
However, there are two aspects of the Mi2 shooting setup that are not very good. Let me also tell you:
1: When the HDR is turned on for M2, the menu key will not work, so if I want to adjust the ISO, I have to exit the HDR mode to adjust it. Maybe the relationship of my version is not perfect, but future versions should improve and adjust this problem.
2: The focusing mode cannot be set directly on the shooting interface. You must enter the camera settings to adjust it. This is inconvenient. If these two points can be changed, Xiaomi 2's camera will be better used 。
Note: The above HDR usage is based on the 2.12.28 version of Xiaomi 2. It does not represent the use of other MIUI versions and other models of mobile phones, and the HDR adjustment of different models of mobile phones will be different. Please note the different operation modes of different mobile phones under different conditions.
This is the magic of HDR. In addition to shooting backlight, HDR can also be used to shoot scenes with high light sources in the picture. You must be good at using HDR function to take good photos. If you want to know about other models of mobile phone shooting functions, you can also put forward more in the comments below. The author will update the evaluation of mobile phone shooting functions you want to see as soon as possible.
