HTC announced today that it will reach a global settlement agreement with Apple. The agreement stipulates that both HTC and Apple will cancel all patent litigation and sign a 10-year patent license contract. The scope of rights includes patents held by both parties at present and in the future. The details of the agreement were not announced.
The reason why the two companies reached an agreement was that both sides were overwhelmed by patents. After the settlement, HTC and Apple will focus more on product innovation. However, it can only be said that Apple is relieved for the time being, because Samsung and other Android manufacturers are waiting for it on the patent issue.
