OPPO Find 7 is the latest flagship mobile phone under OPPO. The current mainstream high-end configuration is used in the hardware, and the latest Sony IMX214 stack camera is also selected for the camera to have a better imaging effect. And Find 7 also has its own 50 million high-definition mode shooting technology. Now let's explore the shooting skills of Find 7.
Note: At the time of shooting, the minor edition has been updated to the latest Color OS version at that time. The version number is: V2.0.7_Beta。
Camera interface
This is the shooting interface of Find 7. Click the option in the upper right corner to call up more shooting modes. There are three pages in total. You can scroll up and down to turn pages.
Click the gear icon on the left to call up the setting interface. There are some scenes or resolutions that can be set, but there is no ISO setting.
The previously updated beta version of the HD mode has added a 24 million pixel mode. Compared with 50 million pixels, the photo processing time is slightly faster.
In addition, the biggest feature is the 32 second long exposure. Unfortunately, ISO cannot be adjusted.
Daytime imaging
Let's take a look at the daytime sample of Find 7. The Find 7 spot metering is very sensitive. In the face of such a large light ratio, you should carefully control the focus. If the focus is close to the sky, the picture will become very dark. If the focus is set on the tree below, the picture will become pale. The small editor of this sample chose to focus on the white building on the side, and the exposure was normal. Focusing energy and photometric linkage is a good thing, but it is a bit difficult to control if it is too sensitive.
Unfortunately, the weather on the day when I went out to take photos was not good. If the weather was better, the performance of the samples would be better. The EXIF related to the sample is printed in the lower right corner of the photo. If you are interested, you can pay attention to it.
Find 7 uses the F/2.0 IMX214 lens, with an effective pixel of 13.13 million, and a sensor size of 1/3.06 inch. Compared with the earlier IMX135 used on Xiaomi 3 and other models, it has a better process and enhanced the performance and photography speed in low light. Of course, even if the hardware is excellent, the final imaging effect depends on the manufacturer's optimization.
The tolerance of the proof sheet is slightly low.
The imaging taken in the 13 megapixel normal mode is very fast. Basically, the imaging is completed and saved to the album when the shutter is clicked. The imaging animation is also very smooth.
50 megapixel ultra clear image quality
The physical pixel of the camera of Find 7 is 13.13 million, and the 50 million pixel mode here is actually to take ten photos at high speed, and then combine the details of each part to form a 50 million pixel sample. The realization of this function depends on the excellent imaging speed of IMX214 and the high processing power of Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. Although the speed of shooting ten pictures in a row is very fast, it also requires about three seconds of combined imaging time after shooting. In order to better image, when using the 50 million pixel mode, it is better to stabilize the phone after pressing the shutter for one second and then relax.
Then what's the difference between the 50 megapixel ultra clear mode and the 13 megapixel sample? Let's illustrate the problem by comparing the sample.
First, let's compare the thumbnails of 13 million pixel and 50 million pixel proofs. This is a sample taken by a small editor from the same angle using 13 million pixel and 50 million pixel modes. We can see that the shutter speed of the sample with 50 million pixels is very different from that of 13 million pixels, and the shutter speed is much slower.
Next, let's watch the comparison of 100% screenshots of 13 million pixels and 50 million pixels( Click the small picture to see the large picture )The 100% magnification of 50 million pixels must be able to enlarge more than the 13 million samples. Moreover, the 50 million pixels of Find 7 are not formed by simple digital interpolation, but by combining ten samples. Therefore, the 50 million pixel samples can still maintain a certain degree of clarity after being magnified.
When the 50 million pixel sample is reduced to the size of 13 million pixels, we can see that the 50 million pixel sample has less noise than the 13 million pixel sample, and the image is cleaner. So if you don't want to capture, you can also open 50 million high-definition mode for daily shooting, and the picture details and noise control will be better.
In addition, Find 7 also supports the use of 4x digital zoom for shooting in the 50 megapixel mode. The same 4x digital zoom for shooting samples is basically the same as the definition of 50 megapixel shooting and then zooming in. However, the sample shot after the digital zoom is still 50 million pixels of 8160 * 6120, so you can continue to zoom in and watch the details... The effect of the digital zoom is good, which can be used depending on the situation.
What about the comparison between the composite 50 million pixels of Find 7 and the 41 million pixels of Lumia 1020? Next, we also compare some samples. The left side of the above figure is Lumia 1020 proof sheet, and the right side is Find 7 proof sheet.
We take 100% screenshots of Lumia 1020 sample as the standard, and then reduce the Find 75 million pixel sample to 100% of the size of 1020 sample. The 50 million pixel size of Find 7 is larger than the 41 million pixel size of 1020. Here, we also do a reduction process, which is advantageous to Find 7 in terms of comparison conditions. However, we can see that the detail of the sample of Lumia 1020 is much better than that of the sample of Find 7 by observing the picture, and it is still clear and sharp after 100% magnification. So the Find 7 is still a composite pixel after all, which is not comparable to the original 41 million pixel proof in detail.
Next, let's compare another scene, which is also Lumia 102041 million pixel proof to Find 75 million pixel proof.
From the details of the enlarged sample, we can see that the details of the Lumia 1020 sample are still better than those of the Find 7 sample. The hotel signboard font on the Find 7 sample has been blurred, while the 1020 sample still maintains a certain degree of clarity.
Of course, from the perspective of hardware conditions, this comparison is not fair. After all, Lumia 1020 is a real pixel, while the 50 million pixels of Find 7 are only merged in the later stage. However, the comparison here is also to answer some netizens' questions. The 50 megapixel HD mode of Find 7 is more practical.
HDR
Compared with the HDR effect of Find 5, the HDR effect of Find 7 has improved a lot, but the performance effect is still relatively ordinary and unstable.
The spot metering of Find 7 is really too sensitive. Xiao Bian wanted to take pictures of the trees and set the focus on the trees. At this time, the metering was a bit too much. The whole sky was completely exposed, and the Eiffel Tower of the Window of the World behind was almost invisible. After HDR was turned on, the situation was slightly improved.
The left is shooting in normal mode, and the right is shooting in HDR mode. Because the spot metering of Find 7 is really too sensitive, when the natural light shines on the flowers, it is easy to create a macro proof with dark background for the flowers. But some people don't like it. They think it's too dark. At this time, you can also turn on HDR to show the details of the shadow part. If you like that effect, it depends on your personal preference. However, after HDR is turned on, the hue will become lighter or brighter than the primary color. Different metering points have serious deviations from the HDR effect, so its HDR is unstable.
HDR taken at dusk.
This picture was taken when the indoor light was weak. It was normal to change from the left to the normal mode. When HDR mode was turned on on the right, the color deviation was serious.
Macro
Of course, from the perspective of macro, Find 7 performs well. The shallow depth of field created by large aperture is also obvious, and the background is also naturally blurred.
As mentioned in the HDR paragraph above, if you don't like the dark macro background, you can try to turn on HDR, and the effect may depend on some luck.
We can also take a look at the macro comparison of Find 7 and Lumia 1020, both of which were shot in normal mode. In terms of macro shooting distance, Find 7 has a closer shooting distance than Lumia 1020. However, the Lumia 1020 lens has a better dynamic range, and because the spot metering is not too sensitive, the exposure of the entire sample is also relatively natural. In addition, the lens focal length of Lumia 1020 is slightly longer than that of Find 7, so the background virtualization is also slightly better than that of Find 7. However, the color of Lumia 1020 is relatively light, and a little thicker is closer to the color seen by the naked eye.
The flowers on the tree.
I have to say that the color restoration of Find 7 is actually quite good. Only when there is contrast can we know how bad it is. This is a comparison of the same scene Find 7 and Lumia 1020 macro proof. The color performance of Find 7 on the left is basically true to the naked eye. To be honest, the color temperature is slightly warmer. The Lumia 1020 is slightly cold, and the color restoration is not accurate, especially the rose color of the floret is very poor, so the white balance of WP is really tuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttuttut.
However, the latest focus distance of Find 7's macro is a little bit longer than that of the flagship M8 and GS5 in the same period. However, in daily use, it is not a problem to shoot too small things.
Nightscape
The night shot effect of Find 7 is fairly good, basically maintaining a low ISO, and the picture purity is OK. But first of all, the focus ability of Find 7 at night is much weaker than that in the daytime, and it often works out of focus.
Here we can compare with Lumia 1020. The left picture is a 100% screenshot of 50 million pixels of Find 7, and the right picture is a 100% screenshot of 102041 million pixels of Lumia. It can be seen that the clarity of Find 7 still remains after 100% magnification, but the clarity of Lumia 1020 is beginning to be poor.
However, because Find 7 is too sensitive for light measurement, if you set the light measurement in a dark place in such a scene, the whole picture will be extremely bright, and the ISO will be greatly raised, so the samples taken in this way cannot be seen. So we have to set the light measuring point on the billboard with high brightness, but this will also make the billboard black.
However, Find 7 can support a maximum of 32 seconds long exposure. This is a sample shot with a long exposure of 2 seconds after the tripod is mounted.
However, after 2 seconds of overexposure, we can adjust the 1-second shutter, and the exposure effect is much better. Here is a comparison of the samples of Find 7 and Lumia 1020 exposed for 1 second respectively. After shooting, Lumia 1020 will continue processing in the machine before imaging, which is basically to further reduce noise and adjust image brightness. If the full pixel proof is enabled, the processing time will be longer after shooting.
Find 7 also has a night view mode in the scene settings. After using this night view mode, noise can be further reduced, and of course, point processing time is also required.
It is also possible to use the night view mode when using 50 million pixels. The noise can be reduced by using 50 million pixels. The effect will be better if it is combined with the night view mode. Of course, the processing time will be longer. The above picture is taken in the 50 million pixel night view mode. On the right is a 100% enlarged screenshot of the red box. It can be seen that there is still a certain degree of clarity in such an environment, and the noise is not so much as to affect the road sign text to the extent that it cannot be seen clearly.
More hand-held night view samples:
Basically, they are 50 million pixels and shot in night view mode, so the noise is not too obvious.
Find 7 has a 32 second long exposure, so you should try the long exposure effect. The following samples are all taken with a tripod. By the way, the slow shutter can only be used at 13 million pixels, and the 50 million pixels and slow shutter cannot be used at the same time. In addition, the ISO is not adjustable, but only automatic ISO.

Summary:
The shooting effect of OPPO Find 7 in the daytime is still excellent, the white balance and color restoration are relatively accurate, but the light measurement is too sensitive, but it is a bit difficult to use, and the picture is easily overexposed or underexposed. Although its HDR effect is much better than that of Find 5, the actual effect is still unsatisfactory, not excellent. After using HDR, the phenomenon of color deviation is more serious. Sometimes the exposure of the picture is incorrect because of HDR. The macro effect is good, the color restoration is more accurate, and the background is also natural. As for the 50 million pixel ultra clear image quality mode, it is also more practical. It not only enhances the clarity of the proof, but also further reduces the noise. That is, it takes a long time to synthesize. In the night scene shooting, the 50 megapixel mode combined with the night scene mode can have a good effect, that is, pay attention to the picture exposure, and you need to select different focus points to determine a better exposure. As for the 32 second long exposure, the effect is also good, because the ISO is not adjustable, and sometimes the ISO is very erratic. In the same scene, the previous ISO is very low, and the later one suddenly rises very high. If the ISO can be adjusted, it will be easier to control the picture exposure. In general, the photo taking effect of OPPO Find 7 can be said to be excellent in the range of domestic Android phones. Of course, the camera can be optimized later, especially when the HDR shooting effect is adjusted and ISO can be adjusted. This camera will have better performance.
