Apple loses iPhone trademark rights in Brazil and reaches a settlement with related manufacturers

According to the American Science and Technology Blog It is reported that Apple and Brazil IGB Electronics are close to reaching a "iPhone" trademark settlement. This report comes from a local newspaper in Brazil. The largest daily newspaper in Brazil Folha de São Paulo Reported that Apple and IGB Electronics both agreed to end their legal proceedings to reach a settlement of the iPhone trademark.

Last month, the Brazilian Industrial Property Department decided that Apple Inc. does not own the trademark rights of the iPhone exclusively. On the contrary, the trademark right of iPhone will eventually belong to IGB Electronics. According to the relevant legal documents, IGB Electronics registered the iPhone trademark as early as 2000, seven years earlier than Jobs launched the Apple iPhone in 2007.

At present, the content of the settlement between the two sides is unknown. Although Apple has already spent a lot of money on the trademark issue (let's take the iPad trademark right in China). But it seems that we all know that iPhone can be popular, which should not be the result of the efforts of other companies.
