Meizu MX Quad Core/MX2/Samsung Note 2/Google Nexus 4 Calorific Value Comparison
Meizu MX Quad Core/MX2/Samsung Note 2/Google Nexus 4 Calorific Value Comparison

With the continuous enhancement of mobile phone performance, power consumption and heating become more and more concerned by users. Heating not only wastes additional power, but also has a certain impact on user experience. Today we found four mainstream quad core models: Meizu MX, MX2, Samsung Note 2 and Google Nexus 4 to investigate their fever.

Among the models tested, the Meizu MX quad core version is equipped with MX5Q 1.4GHz, and the MX2 is equipped with MX5S 1.6GHz. In fact, these two processors are customized versions of Samsung Exynos 4412, which is similar to the original Exynos 4412 of Samsung Note 2. All three processors are 32nm processes. The other Google Nexus 4 is Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064, a quad core product with a process of 28nm. Theoretically, the smaller the manufacturing process, the easier it is to control the heating. However, due to the overall design and optimization, the heating of different products will be different.

When testing several models, we installed the mobile version of the game NBA2K13, adjusted the brightness of the mobile screen to the highest level, and kept it constantly lit, so that the game NBA2K13 could run automatically. After 20 minutes of automatic operation of the game, we used an infrared temperature tester to test the surface temperature of the four models.

Meizu MX2 front maximum test temperature is 43.7 degrees

Meizu MX quad core version positive Maximum test temperature 35.0 degrees

Samsung Note 2 positive The maximum test temperature is 34.6 degrees

Google Nexus 4 front The maximum test temperature is 37.7 ℃

Summary: The front temperature test results of four mobile phones show that Meizu MX2 has the highest temperature, 43.7 degrees; The lowest is Samsung Note 2, the temperature is 34.6 degrees; Google Nexus 4 will automatically reduce the frequency when running high load tasks, and the temperature is not very high; The heating performance of the first generation Meizu MX quad core version is also satisfactory.

Meizu MX2 back The maximum test temperature is 38.3 ℃

Meizu MX Quad Core Version Back The maximum test temperature is 33.5 ℃

Back of Samsung Note 2 The maximum test temperature is 30.8 ℃

Google Nexus 4 Back The maximum test temperature is 34.9 ℃

Summary: In the back temperature test, Meizu MX2 still had the highest test result, reaching 38.3 degrees; Note 2 is also the lowest, 30.8 degrees; Meizu MX quad core version and Google Nexus 4 are still in the middle.

Next, there is a comparative video of "butter test method". The so-called "butter test method" is to put butter on the surface of several mobile phones, and perform the same task operation on them under the same settings. As the melting point of butter is relatively low, it can be quickly melted by the heat emitted by mobile phones. The speed of butter dissolution varies with the heating of the mobile phone, so that the heating of the product can be compared.

The result of the butter test is "weird". The butter on Samsung Note 2 melted first, but the final result is different from that of the infrared temperature tester. After analysis, it is possible that the tightness of the contact between the butter and the screen and the surrounding environment have some impact on the test results. After the actual touch comparison, the conclusion is also more consistent with the test results of the infrared temperature tester. Therefore, this video test is of little reference significance, and the temperature tester is more convincing.

Finally, it should be noted that this test only uses one game for comparison, and does not involve the comparison of video playback, calls, WiFi Internet access, etc., so it cannot comprehensively represent the experience of several products. When the above models are used daily, their fever will not have a great impact on normal use, and consumers need not pay too much attention.
