When Microsoft released the new Windows Phone 8 system at the developer conference in June, it told everyone that the previous Windows Phone devices could not be upgraded to WP8 system, but only to WP7.8 system. This indirectly proves that in the evolution process from WP7 to WP8, Microsoft has repeatedly given up on old users.

3. If WP7 upgrades WP8, consumers may no longer be willing to pay for expensive new models, but experience WP8 directly through old models. In this way, how can WP8 make money? Cut it out for the sake of interests.
The third reason also applies to Nokia. People may think that Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 are great and die, but Nokia doesn't think so.
