Bank card ushers in a new revolution MasterCard launches credit card with display and keyboard

MasterCard, a financial services giant, announced the launch of an enhanced credit card with keyboard and LCD display in cooperation with Singapore Standard Chartered Bank and NagraID Security. The card will first be tried in Singapore, and is planned to be popularized globally in 2013. The appearance of the credit card is the same as that of ordinary credit cards, but an embedded LCD screen and touch keyboard are added to the card. It is reported that in addition to the standard credit and ATM operations of credit cards, the card allows users to display/input the verification code through the keyboard and display screen, so that users can easily and quickly conduct online transactions without the restrictions of portable card machines and online banking. Matthew Driver, President of MasterCard Southeast Asia, said that MasterCard launched its first card in the 1950s, and then promoted the popularity of magnetic cards, chip authentication and electronic payment in the industry. This time, MasterCard launched the world's first display card, and MasterCard was once again stuck in the forefront of payment technology. With the growth of online transactions and remote payment, consumers' demand for payment security has become increasingly urgent, and this innovative enhanced credit card can just meet this demand of users. At present, this credit card is only applicable to online wealth management customers of Standard Chartered Bank.

Nevertheless, some observers believe that this is only a temporary solution before the mobile payment revolution really comes. At present, Google and other technology companies have launched electronic wallets, and many high-end smart phones also have NFC technology that supports mobile payment. However, Apple's latest iPhone 5 does not support NFC functions, which seems to indicate that the future mobile payment solution is still to be determined.
