From June 18 to 22, 2015, Shenzhen will hold the International Makers Week, and release the map of Shenzhen Makers on the Makers Week to promote the maker culture with the strength of one city. Shenzhen has become a hot spot for makers at home and abroad. It is also the best choice to return to Shenzhen for the 2nd Anniversary of the Global Makers Marathon.
When the word "maker" appeared in the government work report and became a hot word in the NPC and CPPCC, many people did not fully understand its meaning. Makers are not hardware innovators, let alone entrepreneurs. The key for makers is to put your ideas into practice and become a work - to make things. The Maker Marathon is such a race. There is no BP, no blind BB, and we only talk about works. The goal of Chuangma is [Make Life Better]. We hope that through the creative enthusiasm created by the competition, more people will love to create, be happy to create, and realize their own ideas.
This is the same as Maker Fair: Dale Dougherty, the founder of Make magazine, believes that the origin of makers lies in enthusiasm and community. "When I founded Make magazine in 2005, I wanted to tell readers how to make a shiny bike or a kite that can be photographed. I wanted to share every detail, and readers can follow these details step by step to make this project." In 2006, Dale held the first Maker Fair, whose spirit was in line with the expectation of the magazine: let more people be happy to create. "Maker Fair is a platform for dialogue between creators and fans. Many fans can become creators through this platform. This is the community I want to create."
Today, the Global Maker Marathon has been held for two years, with more than ten competitions held in nine cities, and more than 1000 makers directly participated in the competition. But it still has shortcomings. The competition has not covered the youth group, which is the future innovation force... However, changes are already taking place.
Different from Maker Faire, the Global Maker Marathon is a competition in which the team develops and completes their own works in 54 hours. As Huang Long, a student of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a contestant in the Hanergy Special Session of the Global Makers Marathon, said in the following video, whether a maker can complete a work does not necessarily depend on how long it takes him. An environment may create more momentum for him. Under the strong pressure of the competition, the team members have a great desire to complete the works, so that they can complete the seemingly impossible tasks in a short time:
The competition will provide you with:
Common tools (soldering iron, hot-melt glue gun, multimeter, electric drill, handsaw, etc.), 3d printer, even small processing lathe; As long as you want, we will try our best (if you need special tools, please contact us in advance).
This competition has on-site tutors to teach the use of 3D printers, cooperate with the team members to solve the difficulties encountered in modeling, and help you better realize your creativity.
During the competition, three meals a day and unlimited additional meals 24 hours a day are provided, and the meeting place is equipped with a lounge.
There is one first prize in the contest; Two second prizes; Three third prizes; Four winners of the fourth prize. The bonus is generous. As long as you have good ideas, you will never be buried.
We want you to be:
Whether you are a hardware engineer, programmer, designer or model enthusiast, it doesn't matter. We only hope you are a person who is willing to put ideas into practice. "The idea should be realized" is the core of makers. If you strongly agree with this sentence, then don't hesitate to pick up the phone to order. No, pick up the phone to register!
