Sandisk Extreme Pro 16G microSD card test
Sandisk Extreme Pro 16G microSD card test

In the past, the speed of the microSD (TF card) of mobile phones was not satisfactory, not as good as the SD card and the eMMC flash memory of mobile phones. As the ancestor of microSD, Sandisk has also been leading the way in microSD speed. The top Extreme Pro series is built for speed, which is comparable to the high-end SD card. Today, we will test this top storage card.

The protagonist of our test is the microSDHC card of Sandisk Extreme Pro series, which has a capacity of 16G, meets the UHS-I standard, and the nominal speed on the package is 633X (i.e. 95MB/s) ▼

There are some related instructions on the back of the package. The nominal reading speed is 95MB/s, and the writing speed is 90MB/s. This is amazing for a microSD card. In addition, this memory card also supports waterproof and dust-proof technology ▼

Sandisk Extreme Pro series microSD cards are similar to ordinary microSD cards in shape, but they use red and black matching colors, with some product specifications on them ▼

The back of the card is dark green, and the card is made in China ▼

We immediately put this card into the phone for testing. We use the Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A for testing. After inserting the card, the nominal 16G card recognizes 14.83GB ▼

We use A1 SD Bench to measure its speed, and the measured result is Read 66.85MB/s, write 50.84MB/s , which is comparable to the eMMC of many mobile phones, of course, there is still a gap with high-end eMMC4.5 and even eMMC5.0 (see the first item "Internal SD Card Performance") ▼

Perform the same test with a general Class 10 microSD card, Read only 32.54MB/s, and write only 8.56MB/s (Check the first item "Internal SD Card score") ▼

Extreme Pro、 Comparison of reading and writing tests of common class 10, eMMC4.5 and eMMC5.0 centralized flash memory (due to the great difference between different mobile phone tests, the results are only for reference) ▼

We use USB3.0 data cable to transfer data to the microSD card in the phone and write a file of 1.17G. Sandisk Extreme Pro microSDHC takes a long time 27.77 seconds . The same test is carried out with the ordinary microSDHC card of Class 10, which takes a long time 2 min 21.72 s , the gap is very big ▼

In order to release the strength of Sandisk Extreme Pro microSDHC, we inserted it into the USB3.0 card reader and computer, and used ATTO Disk Benchmark to measure the speed, and measured the results Read up to 96MB/s, write 87MB/s , basically in line with the nominal speed ▼

From the test results, the Sandisk Extreme Pro 16G microSDHC card does have an extraordinary speed. Both the reading and writing speed are significantly different from the general Class 10 standard microSDHC card. Users with speed requirements can consider this product. However, the maximum capacity of this series is only 16G, and the market price is more than 200 yuan, so the cost performance ratio is low.
