Many users believe that the current four core high-frequency mobile phones have almost the same parameters as computers, and even have "surpassed" computers in some parameters. But in terms of actual computing performance, will mobile phones really surpass computers? Recently, Anthare launched a cross platform 3D performance test, which can test the 3D performance of devices on Android, iOS and Windows (X86) platforms. Let's see the actual performance of devices on different platforms in this test.
This test software is called "Antutu 3DRolling Benchmark". The test method is to test the real-time frame number through a specific 3D scene and give the corresponding total score. This test considers the resolution of the device itself, so in addition to the absolute performance of the GPU, the resolution will also have a great impact on the test results. In fact, this 3D test has also been integrated into Anthurian rabbits after version 3.0, as part of Anthurian rabbits' score. However, this part of the test is relatively accurate, and the GPU performance is squeezed sufficiently.
Android
Android GPU has made great progress in the past one or two years, especially Mali-400MP4, Adreno 320
The addition of powerful GPUs such as the SGX544 has brought the GPU war to a new stage. The following is a test of some Android devices.
720P group
The 720P resolution is now the mainstream of Android phones. From the performance of various games, for 720P devices, at least the Adreno 320 level GPU will be smooth.
Millet 2
Xiaomi 2 is believed to be familiar to all of you. It has always been known as the "little prince of running points". What will happen to this test? The average frame number is 21.9. Although it is still far from smooth, this is also the normal level of Adreno 320. Compared with other Android phones, it is already a high performance ▼
Google Nexus 4
As Google's "fourth son", the configuration of Nexus 4 is also unambiguous, reaching the mainstream level in configuration. In addition to Google's own system optimization, the hardware performance of Nexus 4 is also playing well. The score of Xiaomi 2 is almost the same as that of Xiaomi 2. It should be noted here that Nexus 4 uses a third-party ROM to customize the navigation bar, so the resolution will look strange ▼
Galaxy Note II
For Mali-400MP4, it has been a bit difficult in some large games, so it is not surprising that the score is not so good in this test ▼
1080P group
1080P mobile phones began to explode at the beginning of this year, and most 1080P mobile phones are matched with Qualcomm's APQ8064. Adreno 320 can basically meet the needs of games.
HTC Butterfly
Butterfly uses the 1080P screen, but it is still eye-catching in terms of frame performance, even higher than Xiaomi 2, which is unreasonable in principle. Because of this, Butterfly's total score on Anthare is not much different from some devices using APQ8064+720P ▼
OPPO Find 5
Similar to Butterfly, the frame number of Find 5 in the test is also similar to that of other Adreno 320 devices, which is also a bit unexpected. It may be that this test does not support 1080P devices well enough, and does not open the gap with 720P devices ▼
iOS
The iOS GPU has always been in an absolute leading position relative to other platform devices. From the SGX543MP2 of the iPhone 4S, the SGX543MP4 of the iPad 3, the SGX543MP3 of the iPhone 5, and the SGX554MP4 of the iPad 4, the iOS GPU can be said to have completely defeated the competitors. Here we choose the strongest iPhone 5 and iPad 4 for testing.
iPhone 5
Although the GPU of the iPhone 5 is "just" three cores, the core frequency is relatively high, so the performance can be comparable to that of the SGX543MP4 and Adreno 320 of the iPad 3. The resolution of iPhone 5 is 1136 * 640, which does not reach the mainstream 720P level of Android. Therefore, the pressure on the resolution of iPhone 5 is smaller than that of Android devices. In addition, the hardware itself is very powerful, so the frame number of iPhone 5 is very high, reaching an average of 56 frames, which is basically the strongest performance except for the PC independent graphics card. Here, we should pay special attention to one problem. Because of the compatibility problem of the program itself, iPhone 5 cannot be full screen, so the test resolution is 960 * 640 ▼ the same as that of iPhone 4
iPad 4
The GPU of the iPad 4 is the most powerful handheld device today. In order to cope with the 2048 × 1536 ultra-high resolution screen, Apple uses the SGX554MP4 for "stacking" in the A6X, achieving twice the display performance of the iPad 3. It can be seen from the test results that although there is no one to beat in hardware, the test results are not very eye-catching because the resolution is too high ▼
PC
Since Antutu's 3D test also provides the Windows (X86) version, this test has also been added to the desktop computer test, and the centralized display and low-end independent display have been selected for the test.
HD Graphics 2000
This is the integrated graphics card on the i5 2300, and its performance is not too bad for ordinary users' daily use. In this test, the average frame number is about 34, and the score is more than 8500. It is better than ordinary mobile phones. ▼
NVIDIA Geforce GTS450
This is NVIDIA's middle and low end independent graphics card, which is the best in this test. The average frame number is 184.3, and the score is more than 40000. It is obvious that the pressure of this test is too small for PC independent graphics cards. It is obviously not spectral to use it to measure the computing power of PC graphics cards ▼
Horizontal comparison of test frames (unit: frame) ▼
summary
From the test, it can be seen that this test has some reference value for the test of mobile phones and tablets, and can show the actual performance of the device in its own resolution. For 720P devices, Adreno 320 is indeed a good choice, while Mali-400MP4 has failed in some high load applications, which is consistent with the test results. The result of adding PC graphics card is to make a comparison. It is not accurate to use this software to measure the performance of PC graphics card.
