The Flyme 2.0 of MX2 is popular with many users. At the same time, many users have a great dispute about SmartBar. They think that SmartBar is a very inhumane design, and it is incompatible with many applications while occupying the screen. The openness of Android has given MX2 a chance to change. Some third-party ROM authors have developed Recovery for MX2, brushed it into third-party ROMs, and removed SmartBar.
Before introducing the MX2 Recovery and third-party ROMs, let's take a look at the Flyme 2.1.1 firmware released by Meizu on February 1. The Flyme 2.1.1 firmware has several major changes compared with the previous 2.0. X firmware:
1. After adjusting the desktop layout, careful users should find that the dock bar icon of Flyme 2.1.1 firmware is a distance from the bottom of the desktop, which is also the location of SmartBar. The left is the original version, and the right is Flyme 2.1.1 ▼
2. Several function buttons have been added to the task manager. "X" is to end the current process, and "C" is to end all processes ▼
3. New electricity percentage switch ▼
4. Desktop backup, which is similar to some third-party initiators (such as NOVA), backs up the settings of the desktop, so that even if the firmware is refreshed, the desktop can be recovered through synchronization ▼
5. Another important change of Flyme 2.1.1 is the color of SmartBar, which has changed from dark gray to black, which is also J WONG's design concept makes SmartBar and fuselage panel "integrated". However, the author believes that this is completely a cover up. SmartBar is still a SmartBar. It will still occupy your screen space, and "double bottom bars" will still appear in some incompatible software. The upper part is the original SmartBar, and the lower part is the SmartBar ▼ of Flyme 2.1.1
Next, we will introduce today's play, MX2 Recovery. The name of the Recovery is also very "targeted", called MIUI Recovery... Install through APK and enter (need to obtain Root permission) ▼
To import third-party ROMs, first use Flyme 2.1.1 as the "bottom package" (it is believed that users who have used MOTO will recall their sad experience of cleaning the machine after seeing this), and then import the cleaning package in Recovery ▼
Here, the author has also tried two kinds of cleaning packages, one of which is a modified version based on Flyme 2.1.1. Its biggest feature is that SmartBar has been deleted. From the desktop, it is not different from Flyme 2.1.1 ▼
Entering the system settings, we can see that our lovely and hateful SmartBar has been removed ▼
There is no SmartBar on Sina Weibo ▼
MX2 has been completely liberated. How can we find the original functions of SmartBar? This time, the third-party ROM author has given more functions to the Home button. In the past, clicking is home, and pulling up is back. Now there are corresponding functions on the left, top and right. On the left is return (MX2 old users need to change their habits), on the top is multitasking, and on the right is the menu button
But there is also a small bug here. The original function of the home key can't be used normally... You have to double click the home key to return to the desktop, which brings a big problem and seriously reduces the operation efficiency
Next, we will introduce another third-party ROM, which is composed of the Flyme 2.1.1 core and the Flyme 2.0.6 appearance. Since the Bank of China MX2 cannot use the Recovery core, it also needs Flyme 2.1.1 as the "bottom package". After finishing the painting, one of the highlights is that it uses Samsung's input method (a wave of kerosene is coming) ▼
Another difference from the original version is that this ROM has joined SuperUser, which is the most common software for Android to obtain root permissions. This is much better than Meizu's official "incomplete root". In the past, MX2's default root permissions need to be confirmed several times before they can be used normally ▼
This MX2 "unblock" finally allows SmartBar, a "long-standing problem", to stop pestering users, and also allows MX2 to use all software in full screen like other Android devices. Although this will also result in that relevant functions can only be realized through the gesture of the home key, the MX2 third-party ROM has a bright future if this step can be taken.
